Triopetra Strand

Het strand van Triopetra is sandy, with crystal clear waters and breathtaking sunsets. In the distance, you may even be able to spot the island of Gavdos! It is the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing swim without the busy crowds. Its name comes from its dominating feature: three impressive and slippery rocks that emerge from the blue sea and envelop it from all sides. The two main strands are referred to as “large” (west side) and “small” (east side). Essentially, this natural division is due to the small and rocky promontory that separates the two bays. At the edge of the promontory, we find the three impressively high rocks that create this fascinating setting. Next to the rocks, there is a beautiful and spacious cave, which you can visit. During certain times of the day, the cave offers natural shade to visitors. This relaxing beach is also home to yoga retreats during the summer months. YogaRocks, which is named after the stunning rocky formations found on the beach, offers accommodation nearby and lessons on the beach; at night meditation sessions take place by the shore, under the starry sky. Little Triopetra is een mild georganiseerd strand met parasols, ligbedden en douches, terwijl je in de buurt taverna's en verhuurruimtes vindt. Aan de oostkant, genaamd Stomio (de Mond) is er een kleine haven. Het oostelijke deel van Large i is vergelijkbaar georganiseerd, je vindt er een paar parasols, ligbedden en douches, en een paar taverna's direct aan het strand, evenals een paar accommodatiemogelijkheden.

Van Rethymnokun je het gebied van Triopetra in just under an hour (48 km)  You might also wish to combine your visit with a stop in nearby Preveli strand en het gelijknamige klooster. In westelijke richting van Triopetrakom je de stranden van Ligres, Katsouni, Podare, Agia Foteini en Gialopotamavoor het bereiken van Preveli. De weg voert door het binnenland, door verschillende charmante dorpjes; houd rekening met extra rijtijd door de smalle wegen. De afstand tussen Preveli en Triopetra is 20 km en duurt ongeveer 40 minuten. Ten oosten van Triopetravinden we de populaire kustnederzetting van Agios Pavlos.
