Afterwards, a visit to a traditional mountain village where a typical Cretan family will be waiting to talk to us; soon you will arrive at the birthplace of Zeus. You will also learn about the art of pottery, weaving and the old methods of agriculture.

After such a lively morning full of new sights and information, it is time for lunch in a cosy traditional tavern. With good food, wine and the best “Parea” (company) and the chance to share stories with the villagers. Finally, round off the day with a visit to the mountain village Krassi.

Krassi located at an altitude of 600 meters was the summer residence of one of the most famous personalities of the island, the writer of Alexis Zorbas, Nikos Kazantzakis. Now it is time to slow down. Marvel at the 1,500-year-old sycamore tree and cool off by the spring. Enjoy a little Greek coffee before heading back to the minibus and slowly making our way to your hotel for rest.
