\nSeine Geschichte ist, wie die des Dorfes, gro\u00df ? und besonders blutig. Der Name kommt von Manouses Kallikratis<\/em>, Admiral und Anf\u00fchrer der kretischen Verteidiger von Konstantinopel<\/em> im Jahr 1453. Das Dorf spielte eine bedeutende Rolle in den Freiheitsk\u00e4mpfen und stellte wichtige K\u00e4mpfer - wie in vielen rizitika<\/em> (kretische kriegerische Lieder). Die Ebene hat auch eine strategische Position f\u00fcr alle M\u00f6chtegern-Eroberer, denn sie ist einer der drei Haupteing\u00e4nge zur Sfakia<\/em>.<\/p>W\u00e4hrend des Aufstands von 1867 drangen die t\u00fcrkischen Streitkr\u00e4fte in die Sfakia<\/em>Zuvor war das Dorf bereits zweimal, 1770 und 1821, von den T\u00fcrken zerst\u00f6rt worden. Die Deutsche<\/em> Im Jahr 1943 ereilte es das gleiche Schicksal: \u00dcber 30 Menschen wurden gepl\u00fcndert und als Strafe f\u00fcr ihre Partisanent\u00e4tigkeit hingerichtet. Heute leben nur noch wenige Menschen dauerhaft dort und leben von ihrer Viehzucht. Der Zugang erfolgt jetzt \u00fcber Asi Gonia<\/em>, Myriokephalo<\/em>, die Askyfou<\/em> Ebene oder von Frangokastello aus, was wahrscheinlich die schlechteste aller M\u00f6glichkeiten ist. S\u00fcdwestlich der Ebene liegt die Kallikratis-Schlucht<\/em> die zu dem Dorf Patsianos<\/em>, ein 4 km langer Spaziergang auf einem Pfad. Der Europ\u00e4ische Fernwanderweg E4 hat auch eine Route, die in dem Dorf Kallikratis<\/em> und bewegt sich nach Norden in Richtung Argiroupoli<\/em>. Die Strecke ist zwar relativ lang (ca. 16 km), verl\u00e4uft aber gr\u00f6\u00dftenteils auf unbefestigten und asphaltierten Stra\u00dfen. Aber es lohnt sich, denn man erreicht Argiroupoli<\/em>wo die erfrischenden Quellen, die kleinen Wasserf\u00e4lle und die Platanen eine entspannende Atmosph\u00e4re zum Ausruhen und Essen bieten. Sie k\u00f6nnen auch der Route folgen, die nach S\u00fcden zum Libyschen Meer und dem Dorf Patsianos<\/em>. Auf dieser Route durchqueren Sie die Schlucht von Kallikratis<\/em> und werden mit einem herrlichen Blick auf das s\u00fcdliche Kretische Meer und die charmante K\u00fcstenstadt Frangokastello<\/a>.
