Spilia Village Traditional Hotel features with a luxury and traditional charm nested into a green plain amongst citrus orchards and olives groves. Spilia Village Hotel spreads over 4,000 square meters and the hotel comprises of 30 stone built rooms each uniquely decorated. All rooms have been named after local districts or named after well known people from the village, such as "Anastasakis suite", "Kseropigado", "Marathokefala" and others.
The Main building of the hotel, which comprises the Reception area and the breakfast restaurant is contained in the part of the buildings which was previously a factory and later an olive oil processing plant of which the millstones can still be seen decorating various parts of the building. The remaining rooms of the hotel are the restored village houses dating from the 13th - 17th centuries, which still boast their original Venetian arches and exposed wooden ceiling beams.
Spilia village also offers the ideal choice for small VIP meetings and events for up to 20 people, in a warm place of privacy and tranquillity. The traditional Taverna "Halara" (a structure dating from the Venitian period) serves local style meals which are carefully prepared and served in a unique enviroment where the alternating magic of sadows play with the splend of venetia stone work.
The area is also famous for its excellent red wine produced from local grapes, and for its extra virgin olive oil which has won international awards for its quality.
Spilia village is situated ideally close to all unique attractions of western Crete (Ballos, Gramvousa, Elafonissi, falassarna etc) and at the same time only 3 Km from the beach of Kolimbari.
The Hotel consists of two parts. The old one, where the reception, the hall where breakfast is served, the tavern and 20 rooms exist, and the new building exactly after the little bridge, where the indoor swimming pool, the spa and another 10 rooms are. In the orange orchard you will find swimming pool, a peaceful garden and pool bar. There is also an area - the event venue up to 20 persons and a large parking place.
From the 30 stone built rooms, each uniquely decorated, 4 are suites feature a seating area and some suites are split-level, 2 superior suites with two bedrooms, sitting area & large furnished balcony and one room equipped for guests with special needs.
The area is ideal for people who like to relax in beautiful surroundings, or who enjoy walking, mountain-biking and swimming at the numerous beautiful beaches close at hand. There are many places of interest in the locality that are well worth a visit: The amazing beach of Balos at the northwestern most point of Crete on cape Gramvoussa, Elafonissi a tiny island with white sand, the beach with crystal blue waters at Falassarna. Also, Old churches with unique architectural styles, as the cave of Saint John the hermit in Marathokefala (400 m. from hotel), the Gorge of Deliana, the old town of Chania with its Venitian walls and houses, the old market place and harbour, museums, shops, bars and night life.
