Mirabelo Biking tour

1st day

Meet at Heraklion in the morning towards Milatos, a charming traditional village 50 km east of Heraklion. Coffee time and breakfast on the beach of Milatos with a perfect view at the sea.

We start from the village of Milatos and ascend to Milatos cave, where in 1823 Turks massacred their inhabitants.

As we continue by passing through villages of the area, which most of them retain their traditional architecture. Stone houses have arched entrances, ornate walls from stone and beautiful monasteries.

We make a stop at Fournoi village for coffee and resting.

Ascend to the village of Karidi, which very close we see the Kardamoutsa and Aretiou monastery; architecture of Agion Oros with interesting collections of Byzantine icons of the Cretan Philosophy.

Passing through the villages and Skinias and Louma we arrive at Vrouha village and descend to the Plaka beach.

This route offers a panorama of the bay of Elounda and Spinalonga island with perfect waters.

Accommodation in the town of Aghios Nikolaos.

2nd day

We are starting from the capital of the prefecture, the cosmopolitan city of Agios Nikolaos. We take a short walk through the town and head west towards Kritsa village.

Kritsa (altitude of 300 meters) is at the root of Kokkinos Braxos (red rock ) located on Kastelli village. The village has beautiful view of Mirabello Bay.

As we leaving Kritsa we are heading north and 3 km we see old city of Lato, placed on a overlooking the sea and Lassithi mountains.

As we descend and continue our journey from small traditional villages of the area, we offer a panorama of nature with aromatic pines and eucalyptus.

We arrive in picturesque Neapoli, a small town with a beautiful public garden and neoclassical mansions.

We continue with the last part of our journey, by passing from the traditional and beautiful Latsida and Vrachasi village, and at last we arrive at the beach of Milatos.

Transfer returns us to Heraklion.

Mild Tours
Mild tours are designed for people with an interest and possibly some experience in the cycling activities. The routes chosen require reasonable fitness and experience on different terrain. Mild tours are suitable for increasing your fitness and pushing yourself to new limits.

Terms & conditions

Your safety is our partner's priority. However, all adventure tourism involving road cycling, mountain biking s inherent risks, dangers and hazards. While we will ensure your trip is as safe as possible, not all risks, dangers and hazards can be anticipated or avoided.

We ask you to carefully read and fully understand the "Terms and Conditions" and "Customer Declaration" section on your tour booking form. Your signed consent to these terms is required to complete your reservation.

Tour confirmation

Multiday trips only: A deposit of 20% of the tour price is required for us to reserve your place on your tour. On receipt of your deposit, we will email you a confirmation letter to verify your travel arrangements and advise final payment details.

Booking forms - Customer Declaration

Our partner requires all tour participants to complete a booking form in full. Failure to provide full details of your travel plans may result in miscommunications of your exact travel specifications. Also customers must complete a Customer Declaration form in order to accept the terms of the tour.

Final payment

Multiday trips only: The balance for all our partner tours must be paid no later than 20 days prior to tour departure.

Inclusions and Exclusions

All tours have some basic inclusions and exclusions. There can be some changes in order the booking suits your needs better.

Tour cancellation policy

Multiday trips only: All tour cancellations will require notification in writing to our partner reservations by the person participating on the tour in case unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel your tour.

  • Cancellations received 60 days or greater prior to tour departure will result no loss of the tour deposit.
  • Cancellations received between 60-30 days prior to tour departure will result in full loss of tour deposit per person.
  • Cancellations received between 30–20 days prior to tour departure will result in a 50 loss of the full tour price per person.
  • Cancellations received less than 10 days prior to tour departure will result in 100 loss of full tour cost per person.

Our partner will in most circumstances allow the transfer of the deposit or tour payment to another tour departure (subject to availability).

Refunds

Our partner does not give any refunds for unused hotel rooms, meals, sightseeing trips or services not used.

Itinerary Changes

Our partner reserves the right to modify tour itineraries in situations such as adverse weather, or to better suit client requirements. Our partner shall not be held responsible for any damage, expense or inconvenience caused by late arrival of public transport, schedule changes, strikes, vehicle breakdown, Acts of God, or other conditions beyond our control.

Traveler Responsibility

As a traveler you have the responsibility to a trip appropriated to your interests and ability. Our partner guides reserve the right to reject any participant from a tour for reasons of inability or behavior endangering the safety and the welfare of him/herself or others, without this being a reason for refund. By making the deposit payment you are deemed to have accepted our partner Terms and Conditions.

Insurance

Cycling is an activity that gives you the ability to have direct contact with the natural environment. Our partner's experienced guide and support vehicle will always be by your side throughout the duration of each journey. Our partners have been chosen with great care and we target to your maximum satisfaction!
